I would like to list all of the sci-fi & fantasy books I enjoy, but there isn't enough room on the internet. Here's this instead:
Recommended Reading - Indie Authors
If you liked Fresh Cut, here are some works you might also enjoy. They are memoirs, coming-of-age stories, or stories of self-discovery and transformation.

Dane Granger Reborn by Stephanie Hensley
A fictionalized memoir that is dark, sad, sexy, and gritty. This author did a fascinating job of blending real relationships and interactions from her own life into a new story with compelling characters and situations. Stephanie's tale is psychologically trying but at the same time beautiful and hypnotic. TwistedReality

As a Thief in the Night by Chuck Crabbe
A deep and dreamlike coming-of-age novel; Chuck Crabbe has written elements of mythology and mysticism into the journey of one young man. It takes elements from the hero's quest of Joseph Campbell and weaves them into a story that is many-layered and scholarly, while also being a smooth and accessible read. chuckcrabbe.com

A Spark Before The Fire by Mima
An easy-to-read, well-crafted novel of one man growing up from awkwardness to stardom. This book was written as a prequel to the author's main work Fire. But this is a great stand-alone read even if you read nothing else. The main character's struggles are fascinating to watch. mimaonfire.com

The Snow Killer by Melissa Holden
A young British author's debut novella about a man's exploration of his own capacity for anger and violence; it also explores the ideas of love, loss, loneliness, need, and control. Two equally troubled characters circle each other in a strange dance: is it love, dependence, or just dysfunction? A great, well-written first effort that is definitely worth a read, especially for mystery lovers. MelissaHolden-Wordpress

Street Child by Justin Reed Early
A harrowing memoir that looks at the author's life growing up on the streets of Seattle in the early/mid 80s. Everything that you could imagine that existence entailing is all there. Justin and his friends were featured in the Academy Award nominated film Streetwise, that is sadly very difficult to find these days. Be warned - this man is a gifted writer but the manuscript is very rough; you'll have to suffer through typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors galore. But it is absolutely worth it to share in his remarkable story. justinreedearly.com
